Shanquila Beckham-Williams Charged With Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child in Death of 10 Month-Old Son

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police detectives arrested 28-year-old Shanquila Beckham-Williams on Tuesday after more than a year after the death of her 10 month-old son Takhari Williams.

Beckham-Williams has been charged with Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child after Takhari died November 15, 2020, when police responded to Takhari’s residence after Beckham-Williams called 911 reporting the baby was not breathing.

According to police, Takhari was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The Medical Examiner’s report ruled the death a homicide citing the cause of death to be battered baby syndrome with negligence,” said Palm Bay Police Lt. Jeff Spears.

“Investigators were able to establish probable cause and subsequently arrested Takhari’s mother.”
