Sheriff Wayne Ivey Warns Fugitives in Brevard to ‘Pack Your Toothbrush Because the Wolves are at Your Door’

SHERIFF IVEY: 'if you're a fugitive, the BCSO Fugitive Unit is coming to kick in your door and carry you to jail'

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, or the “Wolves At The Door” as we call them, were hard at it the last two weeks taking fugitives off our streets and putting them behind bars where they can’t victimize anyone else.

■ On October 26, 2021, the team grabbed Alden White at the Titusville Parole and Probation Office in reference to an active felony Violation of Probation warrant reference Tampering With Physical Evidence.

White was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Brevard County Jail on a “No Bond” status.

■ Later that day, the Fugitive Unit located Khalil McCrae in Rockledge in reference to an active felony warrant for Trafficking in Oxycodone, Trafficking in Fentanyl, Sale of Fentanyl, Sale of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Use of 2-Way Communication Device to Facilitate Felony.

McCrae was taken into custody without incident and incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail on a bond of $169,000.00.

Later that day, the Fugitive Unit located Khalil McCrae in Rockledge in reference to an active felony warrant for Trafficking in Oxycodone, Trafficking in Fentanyl, Sale of Fentanyl, Sale of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Use of 2-Way Communication Device to Facilitate Felony. ■ On October 29, 2021, the Wolves worked with one of our local Bail Bond Agents to take Byron Lemar Curry off our streets for an active felony bench warrant in reference to Organized Fraud, Uttering Forged Bills, Grand Theft, and Failure to Appear.

Curry was grabbed outside his apartment complex in Rockledge and was given a nice holding cell at the Brevard County Jail since his warrant had a “No Bond” status.

■ On November 2, 2021, BCSO Fugitive Agents located Donnie C. Deyounks in Mims, in reference to a warrant for Violation of Probation reference Sale of Controlled Substance Within 1000 Feet of Public Housing, Possession of Fentanyl, Violation of Probation reference Sale/Delivery of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine.

Deyounks was given a free ride by our team to the Brevard County Jail where he was held on a “No Bond” status.

■ On November 3, 2021, the Fugitive Unit arrested John Joseph Spano in the Cocoa area on three active Circuit Court warrants in reference to Burglary of Dwelling, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, Battery, Burglary of a Dwelling with an Assault or Battery, Aggravated Assault, Exposure of Sexual Organs, Petit Theft, and Failing to Appear at a Docket Sounding in reference to DUI.

At the time of his arrest, Spano was found to be in possession of Cocaine and Drug Paraphernalia and was charged with those crimes as well. Spano was taken to our beautiful jail complex and was held without bond.

■ On November 4, 2021, the Fugitive Unit arrested John Howard James Jr. in the Melbourne area. James had an active bench warrant, reference FTA for Jury Trial reference to Burglary of a Dwelling and misdemeanor criminal mischief. James was turned over to the Brevard County Jail without further incident.

■ A couple days later on November 6, 2021, the Fugitive Unit assisted in locating Joshua James Gant who was arrested by Cocoa PD, in reference to robbery by sudden snatching, battery on persons 65 or older DV, fraudulent use of personal identification, and grand theft. During the investigation, our Fugitive Agents developed information about Gants whereabouts and were able to assist in taking him into custody.

On November 9, 2021, the Fugitive Unit located and arrested Roosevelt Lockhart II for an active felony bench warrant in reference to failure to appear in court for a mental health status hearing reference to Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Battery By Strangulation, False Imprisonment, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting With Violence, and Battery Domestic Violence. Lockhart was located near his residence in Mims, Florida, and was taken into custody without incident. Lockhart was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was booked on a “No Bond” status.

Ok, folks here is a friendly little public service announcement…if you are a fugitive from justice in Brevard County, go pack your tooth brush and turn yourself in at the Brevard County Jail, cause if not, the BCSO Fugitive Unit is coming to kick in your door and carry you to jail. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
