BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Hear short stories from veterans who served in six major periods of conflict, including World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, Desert Storm and Afghanistan during the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center Veterans Day.

The Veterans Memorial Center is located behind the Merritt Square Mall and the event was held outdoors with Veteran organizations and support groups in attendance.

Food and drinks were served from several veteran support groups, including Chickfil of Merritt Island.

The program featured patriotic music and program and provided a chance to join other veterans and celebrate what Vets have done to create, continue and serve America at a time of challenge.

The most prominent aspects of the Center and Park are the Hall of Honor, the Auditorium, and Meeting Rooms.

The Veterans Memorial Center and Park is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 on Sunday. Call 321-453-1776 for assistance. A Veterans Service Officer is available from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday through Friday.
