BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Looking to get tested for COVID-19? Local health officials are reminding Brevard County residents and visitors to steer clear of hospital emergency rooms when trying to get tested for COVID-19 but to, instead, take advantage of the many other test site options available throughout the county.

With the surge in COVID cases being reported not only nationwide, statewide and also locally, there is growing concern that the demand for tests will begin to inundate local emergency rooms, where staff focus needs to be on treating those experiencing a medical emergency.

There are ample test supplies available and a variety of testing sites and options available to anyone who needs to be tested for the COVID virus. Local pharmacies like Walgreen’s and CVS, urgent care centers, private physicians’ offices and even some retailers are providing tests and in-home test kits.

Brevard County Emergency Management is also partnering with health care providers to offer testing at the following sites:

■ Florida Department of Health-Brevard (walk-up site): 2555 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera. No appointment required, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
■ Parrish Medical Center (drive-thru site): 951 N. Washington Ave., Titusville. Appointment-only testing Monday-Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
■ Rockledge City Center (drive-thru site): 920 Barton Blvd., Rockledge. Testing Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (pre-registration recommended; walk-ins welcome)
■ West Melbourne Community park (walk-up site): 3000 Minton Road, West Melbourne. Testing Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (use Fell Road entrance to park. Pre-registration is recommended; walk-ins welcome)

Those seeking a test at any site are asked to exercise patience but to also anticipate wait times, delays, and lines due to the recent spike in COVID cases being reported over the past few weeks.

Monoclonal antibody treatment is also available at Rockledge City Center for those who can provide positive test results. This treatment is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, visit patientportalfl.com.
