ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are set to face the Northern Illinois Huskies in the 7th annual Cure Bowl at Exploria Stadium on Dec. 17.
The idea of the Cure Bowl started over a decade ago between a group of business leaders and philanthropists who wanted to bring a new college football post-season bowl game to Orlando while making it different by tying it directly to a charitable cause. The Cure Bowl is more than a game.
Played in December each year in Orlando, Florida this NCAA college football bowl game is televised nationally on ESPN.
The Cure Bowl is a platform to help raise funds for cancer research.
This bowl game has helped to put Orlando at the center of some of the world’s greatest advancements in cancer science. Since 2015, the bowl has raised a collective $3.88 million.
Over $1 million of the funds raised have gone to Dr. Annette Khaled, professor at the UCF College of Medicine’s Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences and head of the medical school’s cancer research division.
The Cure Bowl is led by the Orlando Sports Foundation Board of Directors, advisory board, and staff. The dedication of these members extends to over a decade of serving the community.
The Cure Bowl will feature the unique amenities and entertainment associated with Orlando, Florida – the vacation capital of the world. Including The March 2Cure,the official kickoff event for the annual Cure Bowl.
Join college football fans and cancer thrivers on December 17th (2pm to 5:30pm) as Church Street turns pink for this FREE pregame street fest that ends in a community march to the gates of Exploria Stadium for the 6pm kickoff of the 7th Annual Cure Bowl.
Since the turn of the century, people have made their way to this paradise to relax, have fun and revive their spirit. Over recent years, Orlando has become a hub of activity in creating the next great life science clusters.
In addition to its fun and world-renowned theme parks and entertainment venues, the region has welcomed world-class names in research, healthcare, and discovery to places like Lake Nona’s Medical City. Because of this, the Cure Bowl may be just down the road from where the cure for breast cancer is someday discovered.
