BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College Associate Vice President of Athletics Jeff Carr was recognized during the Eastern Florida State College Board of Trustees meeting on Monday.

Carr was inducted into the NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame before the start of the 2021 NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.

Carr won 150 games over his 10 seasons as the women’s soccer coach, starting the program from scratch and building a perennial powerhouse that has made the national tournament 10 straight seasons.

The Titans won the national championship for the first time in program history this season.

“This is all because of Dr. Richey. His vision brought me here and he gets all the credit, his vision and what he saw with the athletic program, the facilities that we have helped draw the remarkable student-athletes that we have here,” Carr said.

“The wins are great. The national championship is awesome. But it is the stories of student-athletes like Bunny Shaw who persevered and because of the influence of all of you, they are successful. I am just honored to be a little piece of that, and I thank Dr. Richey, the Board of Trustees, Jack Parker. We are a team and I am humbled by this.”

Eastern Florida State College Vice President of External Affairs Jack Parker congratulated Carr on his achievements both with the soccer program and as the athletic director.

“It was wonderful seeing President Richey and the Board of Trustees recognize Jeff for his exemplary service to our students. He sets the example for serving others that we should all follow,” Parker said.

Carr received a plaque recognizing his achievements and following the ceremony Carr gave Dr. Richey a soccer ball that the national-championship women’s soccer team had signed.
