FPRA President: definition of a selfless hero
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast FPRA member Kelly Haskins has received the 2021 Doris Fleischman Award, recognizing the “unsung hero” who consistently supports and helps peers in public relations and the chapter.
Haskins is vice president for marketing for Launch Credit Union and has been an energetic asset to our chapter for several years. She joined Space Coast FPRA as a board member at large in 2018 and served as Treasurer from 2019-2021.
The award is named after Doris Fleischman, business partner, and wife of Edward L. Bernays, the “father” of public relations.
It honors those who make contributions to the Space Coast FPRA chapter and PR profession through consistent efforts that sometimes go unrecognized — similar to the efforts of Mrs. Fleischman who worked tirelessly behind the scenes for the profession.
“Kelly is the definition of a selfless hero,” said Space Coast FPRA President Nina Salvaggio Wagner, APR.
“She has consistently supported this organization and its members behind the scenes and always raises her hand to help, expecting nothing in return. She is a supportive leader, a generous team member, and a cherished friend to all who know her.”
Melissa Breckenridge, FPRA’s 2021-2022 awards chair said Haskins truly exemplifies the spirit of the Doris Fleischman Award.
“She continuously gives so much to our chapter through her ongoing commitment, passion, and positive attitude. Kelly is a tireless advocate and an exemplary leader. We are grateful to have her as part of our team.”
