Merritt Island Man Dies After Being Struck by Three Vehicles on US-1 in Cocoa Friday Morning

A 64-year-old Merritt Island man died Friday morning after he was tragically struck by multiple vehicles while walking along US-1 near Beau Geste Road in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 64-year-old Merritt Island man died Friday morning after he was tragically struck by multiple vehicles while walking along US-1 near Beau Geste Road in Cocoa.

Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 6 a.m. when the first vehicle clipped the pedestrian causing him to lay across US-1. As a result, two additional vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, ran over the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle who initially struck the pedestrian has been identified as a 26-year-old man from Titusville.

The driver of the second has been identified as a 59-year-old woman from Cocoa.

Finally, the driver of the tractor-trailer s identified as 55-year-old man from Mims.

All drivers involved in the crash were not physically injured.
