Military Association of America of Cape Canaveral Hosts Successful Benefit Golf Event

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The Military Association of America, Cape Canaveral Chapter held a fundraising golf tournament on Dec. 4 to benefit its Good Deeds Foundation.

More than 190 registered golfers participated and, after expenses, the tournament raised more than $20,000 for GDF programs in 2022.

Approximately 230 attended the event as golfers, supporters from MOAACC, corporate sponsors, etc.

The tournament began with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on a cool, beautiful day at the Cocoa Beach Country Club, a three-links course as Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Port Canaveral Chair Wayne Justice helped kick off the event.

Special support was also provided by the Patrick Space Force Base First Sergeants Council, and the Courageous Division of Sea Cadets based at the Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island.

The GDF is a 501(3) c organization that provides monetary support to active duty military and their families; student-related ROTC/JROTC and other units; and veterans and individuals needing special assistance in Brevard County.

Some of the veteran programs supported include Honor Flight, Veterans Treatment Court, Wreaths Across America at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, and the Brevard County Veterans Memorial Center at Merritt Island.
