Palm Bay First Responders to Begin Holiday’s by Hosting ‘Shop with a Firefighter’ and ‘Operation Reindeer Run’

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – This week, the City of Palm Bay’s first responders will be celebrating the season of giving with two of our favorite annual events.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue’s Shop with a Firefighter and Palm Bay Police Department’s Operation Reindeer Run.

These events give officers and firefighters the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community during the holiday season by connecting one-on-one with children in need in an unforgettable shopping experience.

Members of the media are invited to attend both events and share in the holiday cheer.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue’s Shop with a Firefighter event will be held on Wednesday, December 15th, at 8:30, am at the Walmart on Malabar Road.

The Palm Bay Firefighters Community Benevolent in partnership with Walmart is providing funding to make the holidays a little brighter for 30 local kids.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue staff members will accompany each child on a holiday shopping spree as they cross items off their Christmas wish list. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance to make Palm Bay’s Shop with a Firefighter a magical event for the kids.

The holiday festivities will continue bright and early Thursday morning as Palm Bay Police Department hosts their annual Operation Reindeer Run event.

Operation Reindeer Run kicks off at 8:00 am on December 16th at the Walmart on Malabar Road, where Santa and a few special guests will be waiting for the tiny shoppers to arrive.

Officers and staff from the Palm Bay Police Department will escort over 100 kids who were preselected by local elementary schools on a shopping spree to remember to help spread some holiday cheer in the community.

Shop with a Firefighter and Operation Reindeer Run would not be possible without the cooperation of community partners.

“Thank you to the management and staff of the Walmart on Malabar Road for hosting and contributing to both events. Their generosity helps to make these events possible each year,” said the City of Palm Bay.
