Sidus Space recently became a public company, trading on the NASDAQ

WATCH: Carol Craig, founder and CEO of Craig Technologies, talks with Steve Wilson in the latest edition of “Sit Down with Steve.” Craig talks about her company, her time in the U.S. Navy, and much more in this exclusive interview.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Carol Craig is like a lot of us that live on the Space Coast. The U.S. Navy Veteran loves spending time with her family, she loves the outdoors, she loves sports, and she loves music, especially Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett.

However, what sets her apart from most is that she is the founder and CEO of one of the most dynamic companies in the country, Craig Technologies.

Founded in 1999, Craig Technologies has employed thousands of people over the years, and is described by Carol Craig as, “an engineering technology company focused on government and commercial contracts.” She went on to say, we are basically a “government services contractor.”

Sidus Space, a spinoff of Craig Technologies, has been around for about 10 years. Formerly known as Craig Technologies Aerospace Solutions, the name was changed recently to Sidus Space.

Creating quite a buzz in the industry, Sidus Space recently became a public company, trading on the NASDAQ. One of the more interesting aspects of this is that with more than 3,000 companies trading on the NASDAQ and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), only 32 are founded or co-founded by women.

Going a step further, on the NSADAQ, only 22 are solely founded and operated by women. And, even one more step further, it is believed that Sidus Space is the first and only female-founded space company to go public.
