“The holiday concert is always fun for the students to prepare,” said Ms. Lee.

“In addition to the overall excitement of the season, the youth musicians are presenting works that are upbeat and a joy to listen to. We are so pleased that Brevard has embraced the efforts of these dedicated young people. Come out — it’s a beautiful concert.”

The theme for the Space Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra 2021-22 season is Enlightenment, a reference to the optimism, vision, joy, and light provided by music.

The SCSYO members are divided into three performing groups, to accommodate various ages and experience levels.

Weekly rehearsals for the 2021-22 season are held at Temple Israel of Brevard in Viera, following current COVID-19 protocols by Brevard Public Schools, the International Coalition of Arts Organizations Aerosol Study, and the American String Teachers Association Return to Learning Guidelines.

The orchestras are led by a talented artistic staff of professional musicians and music educators.

The spring session of 2022 will include a concerto competition and the resulting concert of the winners. The season-ending concert will be alongside the adult members of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Aaron T. Collins.
