SpaceX Rocket Launch Scheduled for Saturday Night from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Turksat 5B communications satellite from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Saturday, December 18. (SpaceX Image)

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Turksat 5B communications satellite from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Saturday, December 18.

Launch window opens at 10:58 p.m. ET and closes at 12:28 a.m. ET on December 19.

The satellite is built by Airbus Defense and Space with significant Turkish contributions, the Turksat 5B satellite will provide broadband services over a wide coverage area that include Turkey, the Middle East and large regions of Africa.

SpaceX will attempt to recover the first stage after liftoff on a drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
