ATHENS, GEORGIA – Former Astronaut War Eagle, current Georgia Bulldog guard Kario Oquendo continues to turn heads after making big plays against No. 18 Memphis on Wednesday.
The sophomore guard played a major role in Georgia’s major upset win over No.18 Memphis, defeating the Tigers 82-79.
Kario is averaging 10.9 points per game and is shooting 42% from the field through the first eight games of the season.
Originally from Titusville, Oquendo went to Astronaut High School and went on to play at Florida Southwestern after bypassing his senior year.
He averaged 21.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a senior, topping the 1,000 career point mark in his final season with the War Eagles.
Kario transferred to the University of Georgia back in June.
