CHRISTMAS SPOTLIGHT
WATCH: The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong and Steve Wilson were at the VFW Rocket Post 4534 in Rockledge for a spaghetti fundraising lunch/dinner, with proceeds going for Christmas toys to the children at AdventHealth Children’s Hospital in Orlando. Four-year-old Emily Rose Webb, who is a patient at the hospital, is currently battling cancer and recently had her left leg amputated. Her wish is to have the children at the hospital being visited by Santa on Christmas Day with toys for everyone.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Emily Rose Webb had one wish for Christmas, and that was for all the children at AdventHealth Children’s Hospital in Orlando to receive Christmas presents from Santa. Emily, a four-year-old, is a patient at the hospital and is currently battling Ewing’s Sarcoma cancer.
The Webb family recently partnered with the VFW “Rocket” Post 4534 in Rockledge to help make her wish come true. They held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on November 13, raising enough money for Santa to make the trip to the hospital bearing gifts.
According to the “Rocket” Post Commander Dennis Thompson, “We started serving spaghetti at 3 p.m.and served until we ran out.”
Santa recently made the trip to AdventHelath Children’s Hospital with gifts for the children. It was a very special day for all involved.
WATCH: Santa stopped by to surprise patients and families at AdventHealth for Children with a very special gift.
MSGT Ryan Castillo, who was instrumental in pairing the Webb family with the VFW, said this about Emily, she is a “beautiful little girl, super strong and super courageous.”
He went on to describe her as the “bravest individual that I have had the opportunity to meet.”
Emily Rose Webb may only be four years old, but she is wise beyond her years. She embodies the Christmas Spirit. Emily wished good tidings for others and not herself. It does not get much better than that.
