IVEY: bold law enforcement leadership is needed to face today’s challenges

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It was an honor to be invited to present yesterday at the Georgia FBI National Academy Associates Winter Conference in Augusta, Ga.
The four-hour lecture series was broken into two sections with the first being, “The Art of Community Policing” which details the model of community outreach we use right here in Brevard County to help lower our crime rate while also building an amazing partnership with our citizens.
After a quick break, I also had the opportunity to present “Leadership From The Ledge,” a newly developed course that speaks to what I believe is the type of bold law enforcement leadership we need to face today’s challenges in our profession.

The presentation goes into great detail about what today’s law enforcement leaders need to do in order to protect what I call our three C’s…our Citizens, our Cops, and our Constitution!
I would like to personally thank the Georgia Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates and also National FBINAA Past President, Joe Hellebrand of our agency for inviting me to speak to this very prestigious group of Georgia Law Enforcement Officers.
