Cocoa Police Detectives Seek Community’s Help After Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash On State Road 524

Cocoa police detectives need the public’s help in an investigation involving the death of a 25-year-old man. Police say on Sunday, January 16, the man was killed after being struck by an unknown vehicle in the area of State Road 524 near Industry Road during the early morning hours.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police detectives are asking for the public’s help in an investigation involving the death of a 25-year-old man.

Police say on Sunday, January 16, the man was killed after being struck by an unknown vehicle in the area of State Road 524 near Industry Road during the early morning hours.

The crash occurred between 1 a.m.-1:30 a.m.

The victim is believed to have been walking home, heading eastbound on State Road 524 when he was struck.

The vehicle that hit him was also believed to have been heading eastbound on State Road 524, where the driver of the vehicle then proceeded to flee the scene of the crash.

The unknown vehicle should have damage to the front bumper and front grille, police say.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area of SR-524 or at any of the businesses in the Cocoa Commons Plaza, 2301 Clearlake Road, between 1-1:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 16, to please contact the Cocoa Police Department or call the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
