BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County officials announced an opening for a paid Management and Budget Analyst Internship. The rate of pay is $17.94 to $19.73 per hour.

This is an opportunity for the right person to intern at Brevard County as a Management and Budget Analyst Intern. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a professional environment to help build a strong foundation for your career.
This position falls under the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners and is centrally located in the County Government Center in Viera. This paid internship will assist the Budget Office in the planning and development of the County’s operating and capital budgets.
Besides being a team player with solid interpersonal, communication and organizational skills we are looking for a qualifying recent graduate or college student that will be available to commit to approximately 25 hours/week for the duration of the 6-month internship.

■ COMPENSATION: $17.94 to $19.73 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. This Internship position will be for a duration of less than six (6) months. Part-time/25 hours per week. Performs entry-level professional work assisting in the planning and development of the County’s operating and capital budgets and the analysis of organizational methods and programs.
■ REQUIREMENTS: Graduation within the past twelve (12) months from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or Management; OR a current college student who has successfully completed at least three (3) years [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) year] of a Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or Management PLUS must meet all of the requirements for graduation within twelve (12) months of submitting the Intern application; OR graduation within the past twelve (12) months from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, or Management: OR a current student enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, or Management PLUS must meet all of the requirement for graduation within twelve (12) months of submitting the Intern application.
■ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
