FHP: 57-year old victim pronounced dead at Rockledge Regional Medical Center

A 57-year-old man riding a bike was killed Friday evening when he was struck by a car on State Road 520 near Willeke Lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The victim was transported to Rockledge Regional Medical Center and was later on pronounced dead.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 57-year-old man riding a bike was killed Friday evening when he was struck by a car on State Road 520 near Willeke Lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Lt. Kim Montes said a 43-year-old Cocoa man was driving a sedan east in the inside lane of State Road 520 near Bob Steele Chevrolet when he struck the bicyclist, who was traveling on the far left side of the inside lane.

The victim was transported to Rockledge Regional Medical Center and was later on pronounced dead, according to Lt. Montes.

This crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
