Two Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash On South Harbor City Boulevard, Traffic Homicide Investigation Underway

Melbourne police officers responded to a fatal crash at approximately 3:24 p.m. on Saturday in area of South Harbor City Boulevard and East New Haven Avenue that involved four vehicle.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers responded to a fatal crash at approximately 3:24 p.m. on Saturday in area of South Harbor City Boulevard and East New Haven Avenue that involved four vehicle.

Melbourne Police Sgt. Daniel Desormier said officers discovered the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles had sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and succumbed to those injuries.

“Initial investigation reveals a truck traveling south on South Harbor City Boulevard struck a four-door sedan traveling east on East New Haven Avenue,” said Sgt. Desormier.

“Two additional vehicles facing northbound on South Harbor City Boulevard at the traffic signal were struck as a result of the initial impact from the crash.”

The identity of the victims have not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.

It is unknown if alcohol/drugs were a factor in this crash and the Selective Traffic Enforcement Unit is currently investigating this incident  as a Traffic Homicide Investigation.
