30-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Overnight Shooting in Cocoa, Police Say

Cocoa Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a 30-year-old man just after midnight on Monday near the intersection of SR-520 and U.S. 1.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a 30-year-old man just after midnight on Monday near the intersection of SR-520 and U.S. 1.

Police say the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. when officers responded to the intersection of SR-520 and U.S. 1 after the 30-year-old called 911 to report that he had been shot.

After further investigation, it was revealed the shooting occurred on the 1200 block of Jackson St.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

Police are currently following leads, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence to determine the person or persons responsible for the shooting.

The investigation remains active an ongoing.
