BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay will publish a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit input on the use of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to address homelessness and affordable housing.

The RFI will go live on March 1 and close at 5 p.m. on April 4. During the Special Council Meeting held on December 9, 2021, the city council discussed the use of $18,009,865 ARPA funds allocated to the City of Palm Bay.

The City received its first disbursement of $9,004,932.50 in June 2021 with the second disbursement expected in June 2022. This month, the Palm Bay City Council authorized the release of an RFI for public input.

The RFI is information-gathering only and does not constitute a commitment of funds, rather it will serve for research and planning purposes to guide the allocation of ARPA funding for potential project ideas related to homelessness and affordable housing.

Anyone interested in submitting a response to the RFI is encouraged to CLICK HERE.

All submissions will be reviewed and presented to City Council for guidance on how to proceed. Should the City issue a Request for Applications (RFA) or Request for Proposals (RFP) to grant ARPA funding in the future, all entities that submitted a response to the RFI will be notified and invited to apply at that time.
