Easter Florida Freshman Forward Rapuluchi Ngorka Named NJCAA Division I Player of the Week

Spain native averaged 11.5 pts, 20 reb last week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball player Rapuluchi Ngorka has been named the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the second time this season that Ngorka has been named the national player of the year, which is a program record. The freshman forward was also named the national player of the week on Jan. 19.

The Madrid, Spain native averaged 11.5 points and 20 rebounds last week, helping the Titans go 2-0.

Ngorka has grabbed 20-plus rebounds in three straight games and is leading the state in rebounds per game, averaging 13 which is the fifth-best in the nation.

She has started in almost every game for the Titans this season and is averaging 14.5 points per game which also leads the team.

Ngorka has 313 rebounds this season for the 17th ranked Titans which is the second-most in team history.

Trudy Walker finished with 350 in 2016-17. Ngorka is the fourth Titan to record 300 rebounds in a season.

Ngorka is the second women’s basketball player to win a national player of the week award in program history. Natalia Beaumont was named national player of the week during the 2020-21 season.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to the Florida State College of Jacksonville on Thursday for a Central Conference game beginning at 5:30 p.m.
