Eastern Florida State Women’s Basketball Crowned Conference Champs After Defeating Santa Fe 86-46

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team cut down the nets after picking up their 11th straight win in the Central Conference on Wednesday night.

The Titans, who are now 23-3 overall and 10-0 in the conference, defeated Santa Fe College 86-46 to improve to 10-0 and are the conference champions for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

Eastern Florida State College hit 16 3-pointers in the game which is the most since Jan 25, 2020 when they hit 19 against Broward College. Six players hit a 3-pointer in the game as Shadaria Smith hit five and Kaitlyn Sanders had four in the game.

Tatiana Beaumont got the Titans started, hitting all three of her 3-pointers in the first quarter and Eastern Florida State College led 25-13 after one quarter.

The second quarter was all Titans as they outscored the Saints 23-9 to hold a 48-22 lead at halftime.

The Titans would win both the third and fourth quarters to post the 40-point win. It is the eighth time this season the Titans have won by 30-plus points.

Smith finished with 19 points while Sanders had 12 and Lor Eyeba Mputu finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. Rapuluchi Ngorka grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

The women’s basketball team will hit the road Saturday, traveling to Daytona State College for a 2 p.m. game before wrapping up the regular season Tuesday night against St. Petersburg at Titan Field House.

The women’s basketball team will compete in the FCSAA/Region VIII Women’s Basketball Championships on March 3 in Niceville.
