MELBOURNE POLICE: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash With Vehicle on East New Haven Avenue

A 31-year-old motorcyclist is in serious condition at Health First’s Holmes Regional Hospital after colliding with a vehicle on East New Haven Avenue at East Strawbridge Avenue on Tuesday night.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A 31-year-old motorcyclist is in serious condition at Health First’s Holmes Regional Hospital after colliding with a vehicle on East New Haven Avenue at East Strawbridge Avenue on Tuesday night.

Melbourne police officers responded to incident and discovered the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

A Melbourne police spokesperson said the injured motorcyclist is Michael Shea, 31, of Fort Lauderdale and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Cassidy Lyn Brown, 26, of Palm Bay.

According to police, the initial investigation showed Shea was traveling east on East Strawbridge Avenue on his motorcycle approaching the Melbourne Causeway when he collided with the vehicle, which was turning left onto East New Haven Avenue from westbound East Strawbridge Avenue.

Shea is listed in critical condition in the hospital.

A Melbourne police spokesperson said it appears alcohol/drugs were not a factor in this crash.
