Woman Found Floating Dead in Retention Pond Near Sand Point Park in Titusville

Police first responded to a call around 1:30 p.m.

Titusville Police are investigating the drowning death of a woman on Wednesday after her body was found floating in a retention pond near the entrance of Sand Point Park and North Washington Avenue.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police are investigating the drowning death of a local woman on Wednesday after her body was found floating in a retention pond near the entrance of Sand Point Park and North Washington Avenue.

Police say they first responded to a call around 1:30 p.m. about a report of a body floating in a retention pond near the entrance of Sand Point Park.

The preliminary investigation revealed multiple witnesses reported to officers the victim was recently seen in the park and appeared highly intoxicated.

Her body was recovered from the water and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department.
