BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s golf finished in second place in the Panther Invitational at Duran Golf Club Tuesday.

The Titans shot a 283 in the final round to finish the three rounds with an 874. Barry University shot a final round of 280 and won the tournament with an 855.

“I have stood on that 18th tee for I don’t know how many years that Florida Tech has hosted this tournament and I always think back to all the tee shots and shots to the green I have watched over the years and to be in that last wave with Barry and Keiser today is a good feeling, the guys should feel good about that,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said.

Murphy Allard and Robert Greninger each shot 2-under 70 on Tuesday while Drew Lanier shot 1-under 71 and John Houchin shot even-par 72.

Matt Gauntlett finished with a final round 74 to finish tied for sixth place at even par. Houchin tied for ninth overall at 1-over par while Lanier finished tied for 17th. Allard and Greninger tied for 27th overall.

“Matt struggled a little bit today but we had nice comebacks from Robert and Murphy today. Drew was as solid as ever in the last round and John has been solid all year. That is a good starting five right there,” Howell said.

“I like the way we are rounding out, it’s a good stretch and I like the timing of how we are coming together right now.”

The second-place finish was the best finish for the Titans at the Panther Invitational in the past five seasons. Eastern Florida State College will hit the road Monday, competing in the Glenlakes Invitational in Alabama.
