Elon Musk Asks His 79 Million Followers: ‘Is a new platform needed?’ due to Twitter free speech criticism.

Elon Musk, who has revolutionized transportation on Earth with Tesla, and in space with SpaceX, asked in a Twitter post if a “new platform needed?” in regard to free speech criticism of Twitter.

Given Musk’s vision and impact as one of history’s leading entrepreneurs, as well as being the world’s richest man with a net worth of more than $218.3 billion, his statement on Twitter whether another a new platform is needed encouraged many of his more than 79 million followers to call for him to buy the social media platform – or start one of his own.

“Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy,” Musk tweeted Saturday. “What should be done?” he asked.

Then in a follow-up post, Musk asked, “Is a new platform needed?”

“Buy this one!!!” Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis responded.
