Fatal Shooting Inside Off the Traxx Sports Bar in Downtown Melbourne Leaves Man Dead, Woman Injured

POLICE: Off the Traxx was reported to be near capacity at approximately 350 patrons

Melbourne police reported that officers responded to an early morning fatal shooting at Off the Traxx sports bar located at 918 E. New Haven Avenue in Downtown Melbourne that left one man dead and a woman injured. According to Melbourn Police Commander Health Sanders, at the time of the shootings, Off the Traxx was reported to be near capacity at approximately 350 patrons.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police reported that officers responded to an early morning fatal shooting at Off the Traxx sports bar located at 918 E. New Haven Avenue in Downtown Melbourne that left one man dead and a woman injured.

According to Melbourn Police Commander Health Sanders, at the time of the shootings, Off the Traxx was reported to be near capacity at approximately 350 patrons.

Sanders said that officers responded to the fatal shooting at 1:10 a.m. Sunday and discovered a 34-year-old man unconscious who was then taken to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where he was pronounced dead.

Commander Sanders said a 29-year-old female Off the Traxx employee was also injured but is expected to survive and was admitted to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

Neither victim’s identity has been released by authorities at this time.

The Melbourne Police Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating this case.

Commander Sanders said that at this time the identity of the male suspect is unknown, and the Melbourne Police Department is requesting the assistance of anyone who witnessed this shooting to call 321-608-6450 to provide information.
