Florida Tech Pitcher Joey Hecht Named Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week

first Pitcher of the Week award for the Ohio native
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Baseball’s Joey Hecht has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week.
This is the first career SSC Pitcher of the Week award for the Dayton, Ohio native.
Hecht pitched three and one-third innings in relief of Mitch Harding against Post and pitched six and one-third innings in his outing in Game 1 against #7 Nova Southeastern, where he allowed only two hits, two runs, struck out five Sharks, and threw 95 pitches to earn the win.
Hecht did not allow a hit until the seventh inning.
This is the first SSC Pitcher of the Week honor since Preston Schumacher won the award on March 16, 2020.
The Panthers are back in action at Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field on Tuesday, March 21 to host Lynn at 6:00 p.m.
