Information

A number of new champions that are set to be introduced in the near future have been leaked by Riot Games during the process of recording voice lines for said upcoming characters. The incidents appear to be a recurring trend as this is the second time such an occurrence has occurred prior to Riot Games releasing new content, with the last known incident being a leak prior to the release of “Call of the Mountain.”

Overall exciting list

Overall, this is quite a riveting list! We received ve champions from Shurima, plus a couple from the exile races with one from Ionia, Piltover, and Demacia, two surprising choices from Noxus, Freljord, and Bilgewater – with one curveball! Malphite will be the first champion in The Legends of Runeterra to hail from Italy. While he is not exactly a fan favorite on his own (that would probably be Qiyana, Rengar, or Zyra) he brings some interesting mechanics to the table.

Overall, we’re in for quite an eclectic bunch! There will be five champions from Shurima and one each from Ionia, Runeterra, Demacia, and Noxus. We’ve already got Gnar to represent Irelia and the Freljord. And Taric mostly stands out as a Runeterran League champion at this point – so it’s not surprising to see him on this list of champions trending towards the direction of being Runeterran-biased in their origins.

It was a clever move, of course: made long before he was announced! If you think back hard enough, you might even recall Enrick joined us all that while back ago, shortly after his Lore Spotlight where I mentioned a certain “mysterious character

As a store manager, you always like surprises. That said, we picked some misfits! First up, there’s E-Peen champion Malphite, with his rock-hard abs and dry wit. He hails from Ixtal by the way – what a curveball isn’t he? Next up is Mordekaiser. We’ve heard for years that he wasn’t a very popular pick so we added him to see what would happen if he made his appearance in our League of Legends Store! Ornn was next on our list.

With Kumungu Jungle (our store’s most recent major event) on the horizon, it was only natural for us to include him in this patch update as well! The next will come as no surprise though – Camille – everybody loves her popping out of her cape to surprise you or because she found herself getting ahead and wants to end the game quickly! Then there’s Kindred and Bard: both exciting additions but maybe not so surprising ones with the high demand in their respective roles after all these years.
