Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Melbourne Crash Feb. 22 Dies at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center

Crash happened the evening of Feb. 22

Michael Shea, 31, the motorcyclist who was seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle on East New Haven Avenue at East Strawbridge Avenue on Feb. 22  died at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical on Tuesday.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Michael Shea, 31, the motorcyclist who was seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle on East New Haven Avenue at East Strawbridge Avenue on Feb. 22  died at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center on Tuesday.

Melbourne police officers responded to the incident on the evening of Feb. 22 and discovered that Shea sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

According to police, the initial investigation showed Shea was traveling east on East Strawbridge Avenue on his motorcycle approaching the Melbourne Causeway when he collided with the vehicle, which was turning left onto East New Haven Avenue from westbound East Strawbridge Avenue.

A Melbourne police spokesperson said it appears alcohol/drugs were not a factor in this crash.
