Donald Charles Hernandez, 61, passed away on February 17, 2022, in Seattle, WA. Born in Merritt Island, he was the son of Melvin Donald and Barbara Hernandez.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Donald Charles Hernandez, 61, passed away on February 17, 2022, in Seattle, WA. Born in Merritt Island, he was the son of Melvin Donald and Barbara Hernandez.

Don attended Palm Bay Elementary School, Melbourne High School, Brevard Community College, and the University of Maryland. After serving in the U.S. Army, he was a sales executive and traveled globally with home base in Heidelberg, Germany.

Don’s quick wit, sense of humor, and his loving, caring spirit enabled him to make friends wherever he went. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, particularly the homeless.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his love of 27 years, Heike; his children, Carmen Hernandez-Luef (Martin), Markus Hernandez, Jakob Hernandez, and Jonathan Hernandez; grandson, Adrian; sister, Debra Benavidez; brothers, David Hernandez and Douglas Hernandez.

The family will have a private service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to Seattle Homeless Outreach.
