Tom moved to Florida in 1972, where he worked for S&S Enterprises for 30 years until he retired in 2013

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Thomas Anthony Vani passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2022, two days short of his 76th birthday. He leaves behind his wife, Sharleen, his children David, Steven, Carol, Lindsey, Ashley, Michael, his granddaughter, Ava, his sisters Fran, Virginia, Marcy, his brother, Michael, and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born in Chicago and lived there until joining the Army. After leaving the Army, he went to the University of Western Michigan, where he graduated with a B.A. in Petroleum Marketing.
He moved to Florida in 1972, where he worked for S&S Enterprises for 30 years until he retired in 2013.
He continued to volunteer his time with the Chamber of Commerce, Merritt Island Redevelopment Agency, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, and Merritt Island High School.
Tom loved history, sports, being on the water, and traveling. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was always the guy to go to for advice, and he never failed to help anyone he could. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island on Saturday, March 5, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
