OBITUARY: Virginia Preece, 95, of Cocoa, Passed Away Peacefully on Feb. 19

Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa where she sang in the choir

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Virginia Preece passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022, at the age of 95, with family by her side.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband James Preece, her parents Kermit and Susan Leslie and her brother Ronald Leslie. She is survived by son Jim Preece (Tony) Senoia, GA; daughter Karen Petters (Walt) Rockledge, FL, three grandchildren: Jennifer (Will) Florence AL, Stephanie (Brooks) Rockledge, FL and Jared (Lexi) Melbourne, FL, and five great grandsons: Vance, Seth, Bentley, Jamison and Easton.

Virginia was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, she and Jim moved to Cocoa, Florida in 1959. She was employed and retired from Brevard County Public Schools where she was the Payroll Supervisor for many years.

Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa where she sang in the choir and volunteered many hours in the church office. Virginia was an avid reader and loved reading mysteries, playing games on her computer, and spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, 5475 N. US Highway 1, Cocoa, FL 32927.
