The preliminary investigation has revealed Burgess was driving a black 2021 Ford F250 and rear-ended by another adult male, who was driving a 2016 black Ford F-150 as they were both traveling westbound on Columbia Boulevard.

Subsequently, a woman who was driving a silver 2022 silver Toyota Corolla was just behind the initial crash and struck the Ford F-150 from behind.

Both drivers left the scene and continued driving recklessly westbound, culminating with a final crash and altercation near 2300 Columbia Boulevard.

Burgess then fired two shots from a handgun, which struck the other vehicle and a grass median.
