Alert citizen helps police rescue dog

ABOVE VIDEO: Palm Bay Police announced Wednesday morning that they rescued a dog stuck in the mud in a canal off Minton Road.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police announced Wednesday morning that they rescued a dog stuck in mud in a canal off Minton Road.

Police say they received a call from a citizen stating a dog appeared stuck in the mud in a canal.

When officers arrived, K9 Officer Carrol sprung into action and was able to heroically rescue the dog.

“The water was cold, and it appeared the dog had been there for some time, worn out and tired,” said a police spokesperson on Wednesday.

The dog does not have a collar or tags, therefore, police are receiving assistance from Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services.

“If you know the dog’s owners, please reach out to them (BCSO Animal Services).”
