BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Jean “Camille” Goethe, 90, passed away on April 6 at the home of her son in Crystal River, FL. Camille was born in Gainesville, FL on January 3, 1932, and grew up in Jacksonville, FL. During WWII Camille and her family lived in various locations to be near their dad, Laurence K. Walrath, who served in the Navy.

Later, she lived in many interesting places all over the world as the wife of an Air Force officer. She landed in Titusville in 1971 and was active in many community activities including a duplicate bridge group.

Camille was a good mom to her three boys. After her marriage ended, she went to college and got her degree at the University of Central Florida and began working at the Kennedy Space Center as a technical writer for Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grier, Inc (EG&G). After 20 years, she retired in 1997, which marked the start of a very active social life, as well as volunteer work.

Anyone who knew Camille knew of her love of cats and family. We will miss her humor and kindness towards all people no matter their circumstances.

She joins those who have gone before her, sons Edward Kemeys Goethe, III, Laurence Curtis Goethe (Jodi Goethe), and ex-husband Edward Kemeys Goethe, Jr. (Norma Goethe). She is survived by her middle son Robert C. Goethe, MD (Bev Goethe), grandson R. Kemeys Goethe, granddaughter Camille Goethe Smith (Joshua Smith), and great-grandchildren, Loxie and Gideon Smith.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at Unity on the Space Coast, 2000 South St, Titusville, FL 32780 at 10 a.m on May 7, and lunch to follow at Dixie Crossroads Seafood Restaurant, 1475 Garden Street, Titusville at 11:30 a.m. We ask all who loved her to attend and bring a story.

Camille asked friends and family to plant a tree in her memory. In addition, donations in her memory will be accepted at SPCA of Brevard, 455 Cheney Highway, Titusville, FL 32780 or donate online HERE.
