“We’re excited to start service for the first time at Melbourne Orlando International Airport and bring Allegiant’s brand of affordable, nonstop travel to Central Florida’s gateway city,” said Thayne Klingler, Allegiant’s director of airport affairs in November.

The arrival of Allegiant to MLB marks the airport’s first airline with an ultra-low fare product in more than two decades. The new and unmatched service unites a stress-free airport experience with a low-cost airline option for travelers.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Allegiant to its new coastal gateway to Central Florida,” said Greg Donovan, A.A.E., executive director at MLB.

“Growth is one of the most common words being used around our airport these days,” said Melbourne Airport Authority Chairman Jack L. Ryals. “Allegiant’s investment into our community is accompanied by the airport’s major terminal project that will allow us to grow together, with our community, for years to come.”
