WATCH: Viera Marching Hawks to Host Golf Tournament May 7 to Raise Funds for New Band Uniforms

ABOVE VIDEO: Meet the students and directors of the Viera High School Band on Florida’s Space Coast as they practice and work with their parents and generous local businesses to raise over $100,000 to replace their 16-year-old band uniforms-which are older than many of the students wearing them.

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Viera High School Instrumental Music Parent Organization is embarking on a campaign to raise $100,000 for new marching band uniforms.

While the average lifespan of a marching band uniform is six to ten years, the VHS uniforms are 15 years old.

For many students, their uniforms are older than they are and have been mended beyond repair.

The VHS music program is hosting a golf tournament on Saturday, May 7 at Duran Golf Club to help raise these much-needed funds.

Viera High School is asking community members to support the golf tournament through sponsorships, donation of services or goods, or participation in the tournament and/or raffle.
