BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne Police Department hosted their annual “Cops on the Coop” event to raise money for Special Olympics Florida.

Brevard County Fire Rescue Engine 83 and Truck 63 assisted during the special event over the weekend.

This event holds police officers in “jail” who fail to comply with the Chick-fil-a standard of “Eat More Chicken,” and the police officers must take their place on the “coop” (the roof) if they have not met their bond (donation pledge).

Truck 63 provided roof access so their partners in blue could take their places on the coop.

“Many thanks to the community for coming out in support of this cause,” said BCFR.
