Four Florida Tech Panthers Lacrosse Players Named to All-South Region Teams

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The USILA released its All-South Region teams on Tuesday and four Panthers were among the list of honorees.

Justin Williams was selected to the All-South Region First Team and Sam Balch earned third-team honors, while Zach Rozgonyi and Josh Vetter were voted to the honorable mention team.

Williams picks up his first career All-South Region nod after receiving Honorable Mention All-America honors from USA Lacrosse. The senior midfielder was also tabbed an All-SSC First Team selection for the second straight season in 2022.

The Forrest Hill, Maryland native racked up a career-high 49 points during his final season as a Panther, recording 23 goals and 26 assists to go along with 18 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

He capped off his career as the program’s all-time leader with 56 assists and ranks second in program history with 138 career points.

Balch earns All-Region honors after being tabbed a Third Team All-American by USA Lacrosse. Additionally, the graduate defender was selected to the All-First Team this season.

The Wilmette, Illinois native led all of Division II with 44 caused turnovers during the regular season and ranked third nationally with 2.75 caused turnovers per game. Balch was also second on the team with 49 ground balls this season.

In addition to earning All-South Region honors, Rozgonyi was selected to the All-SSC First Team in 2022. The Elkridge, Md. product had a breakout season as he led the team with 67 points and 46 goals, both single-season school records.

He tallied six man-up goals and four game-winning goals during the campaign while also picking up 45 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. The sophomore attackman recorded at least five points in nine games this season.

Vetter scoops up an All-Region selection for the second consecutive year and was named to the All-SSC Second Team this season.

The Ellicott City, Md. native finished second on the team with 28 caused turnovers and third with 47 ground balls in 2022. The graduate defender had at least two caused turnovers in nine games this season.
