OBITUARY: Alana Jean Douglass, 66, of Melbourne, Passed Away May 1

After a long battle with a chronic illness, Alana passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Alana Jean Douglass got her wings and danced all the way to heaven on Sunday, May 1, 2022. After a long battle with a chronic illness, she passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side. She was 66 years young.

It would be wrong to say that Alana lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always strong, courageous, and determined. When anyone else would have broken, Alana stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

Alana is predeceased by her husband George and is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, Jessica’s husband Nigel, 8 grandchildren: Aaron and his wife Myrla, Chelsea and her husband Aaron, Noah, Madison, Austin, Petyon, Lindsey, and Bodi, 4 great-grans and one bundle of joy on the way: Elijah, Ella, Isaiah, and Amelia, her sister Fran and brother-in-love Keith, two nieces Tanya and Jodie, and countless other surrogate children and friends whom she loved and adored over the years. Anyone who knew Alana knew that her family, friends, and service to others meant the world to her.

A Celebration of Life for Alana will be held at Ammen Family Funeral Home at 1001 S. Hickory Street in Melbourne on Wednesday, May 4 at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
