OBITUARY: ‘Doc #4’ of Doc’s Bait House, Major Thomas E. Norwood, Passed Away March 11

Major Thomas E. Norwood (Retired) died on March 11, 2022. Tom was also affectionately known as “Doc #4” of Doc’s Bait House in Merritt Island. He was born in Miami, Florida, on April 6, 1937.

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Major Thomas E. Norwood (Retired) died on March 11, 2022. Tom was also affectionately known as “Doc #4” of Doc’s Bait House in Merritt Island. He was born in Miami, Florida, on April 6, 1937.

He graduated from Cocoa High School in 1955 and Stetson University in 1960. Upon graduation, Thomas was commissioned and later became a member of the Chapter XXI Special Forces Association.

Tom was an active member of many local clubs, and he will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. He was predeceased by his son William Christian Norwood, brother Bill Norwood and sister Kay Hietpas.

He was survived by his wife Linda F. Norwood, son Charles R. Norwood, daughter Teresa Woods, brother Charles Norwood, stepson Kevin Markey, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at Calvary Chapel, 3500 North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, on June 25 at 2 p.m.
