Steven honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for 8.5 years as a Law Enforcement Specialist

Steven James Sottoriva, 60, of Port St. John, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Steven was born November 3, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – Steven James Sottoriva, 60, of Port St. John, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Steven was born November 3, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Steven honorably served in the United States Air Force for 8.5 years as a Law Enforcement Specialist and then worked at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (Cape Canaveral Air Force Station) as a Security Assistant in the Security Forces Armory for over 30 years.

Steven was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan and attended as many Spring Training games in Florida as much as possible in addition to watching them on TV. He loved listening to rock music and reading fiction, suspense, crime and science-fiction novels.

He is survived by his wife Joan, his son James and daughter Nicole; his two grandchildren Zayden and Hunter – all from Port St. John, FL and his mother Brenda Sottoriva (Cowens) of St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, James.

Steven will be laid to rest at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, June 3.
