BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – It’s a great day Palm Bay! On Thursday, April 21 I had the privilege of presiding over the annual ceremony commemorating Palm Bay Police Officers Ronald Grogan and Gerald Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty on April 23, 1987.

The sacrifice our officers made on that day forever changed the Palm Bay Police Department and the entire City of Palm Bay. We will always be in their debt.

I want the men and women of the Palm Bay Police Department to know that I will always have their six as they protect and serve our community.

That same evening, I was honored to participate in the swearing-in ceremony for Palm Bay’s new Chief of Police Mario Augello.

Chief Augello has spent over 20 years with the Palm Bay Police Department, rising through the ranks to become our Chief. Please join me in wishing Chief Augello the very best as he steps into his new role!

Last month, I was Palm Bay Proud to present my Mayor’s Business Spotlight to Skeebo’s Rib Shack.

Skeebo’s, located at 2280 Harris Avenue NE, is quickly becoming a Palm Bay staple, offering a wide variety of barbeque, seafood, American classics, and soul food.

Their warm, welcoming spirit and delicious food made them a perfect choice for this quarter’s Mayor’s Business Spotlight.

The first week of May is National Public Service Recognition Week, where we celebrate those who serve our country as federal, state, county, and municipal government employees.

I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our City of Palm Bay employees who work tirelessly to provide our community with critical municipal services, support, recreational offerings, and initiatives.

On May 8, I hope you’ll join me in honoring mothers near and far on Mother’s Day.

During the month of May, the City of Palm Bay recognizes Small Business Month, as well as Economic Development Week from May 9-13.

On May 15-21, we observe National Police Week will recognize America’s law enforcement community and recognize officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

On May 21, we celebrate Armed Forces Day in tribute to the military personnel serving in the United States Armed Forces. Finally, on May 30 we celebrate Memorial Day, honoring the brave military personnel who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

With summer approaching, the school year is nearing its end and I am especially proud to honor all the Palm Bayers in the Class of 2022.

I have the great honor of speaking at the commencement ceremonies for Keiser College and the first-ever graduating class from Pineapple Cove Academy.

I am honored to play a small part in such a momentous occasion for so many of our best and brightest. Congratulations to all our graduates in the Class of 2022!

“Finally, I am excited to announce that I am participating in the 8th annual Dancing for the Space Coast fundraising event on June 4,” said Mayor Medina.
