Pickup Truck Crashes into Cocoa Mayor Mike Blake’s Home, Investigation is Underway

Cocoa police patrol officers are investigating an incident involving two vehicles, one of which ended up crashing into a home belonging to the City of Cocoa Mayor Michael Blake.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police patrol officers are investigating an incident involving two vehicles, one of which ended up crashing into a home belonging to the City of Cocoa Mayor Michael Blake.

According to Cocoa Police’s Public Information Officer Yvonne Martinez, at 7 p.m. officers responded to the 200 block of Blake Avenue in Cocoa after a pickup truck crashed into a home.

Martinez said Blake was not at home at the time of the crash.

“The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening,” said Martinez.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.  The investigation revealed the driver of the pickup truck was traveling southbound on Blake Avenue.

“As the driver was crossing State Road 520, he collided with a vehicle traveling west on State Road 520 which caused the southbound driver to lose control and crash into the house,” said Martinez.

The investigation is ongoing.
