POLICE: Robert Lukow Jr., 29, Charged With Murder After Stabbing Father to Death

Robert Lukow Jr., 29, has been charged with 2nd-degree murder of his father after Palm Bay police officers responded to a stabbing to the 400 block of Easton Forest Circle SE in Palm Bay. (PBPD image)

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Robert Lukow Jr., 29, has been charged with 2nd-degree murder of his father after Palm Bay police officers responded to a stabbing to the 400 block of Easton Forest Circle SE in Palm Bay.

Palm Bay Police Cmdr. Jeff Spears identified the victim as Robert J. Lukow, 64, of Palm Bay, who suffered multiple stab wounds around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

“Life-saving measures were given, however, Lukow was pronounced deceased on the scene inside the residence,” said Cmdr. Spears.

According to Cmdr. Spears, the victim’s wife said that their son had stabbed Lukow.

Cmdr. Spears said the victim’s wife awoke to an argument between Lukow and their son, who lived in the residence with them.

Lukow’s wife stated that she walked out of the bedroom and and said that Lukow Jr. stabbed him.

“Lukow Jr. fled the residence moments before Lukow’s wife exited the bedroom,” said Cmdr. Spears.

A perimeter was established and with the assistance of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit and K9 team, Lukow Jr. was located and apprehended a short distance from the residence.

I”nvestigators are trying to determine the motive and understand why Lukow Jr. killed his father,” said Cmdr. Spears.

The weapon used was recovered and Lukow Jr. has been charged with 2nd-degree murder.  He has been transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex.
