Strengthening relationships between women will be the focus of the Abide Women’s Conference at Suntree United Methodist Church on May 21.

BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – Strengthening relationships between women will be the focus of the Abide Women’s Conference at Suntree United Methodist Church on May 21.

Two sets of uniquely qualified presenters take to the stage on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The theme of the 5th annual Abide Women’s Conference is “Where Friends Gather.” The Rev. Annette Stiles Pendergrass is the Senior Pastor at Suntree United Methodist Church, located at 7400 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne.

She will co-present with her sister, Rev. Jen Stiles Williams, the Lead Pastor of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Orlando. The two sisters have been serving a total of 58 years as Florida ministers.

Also speaking will be Associate Pastor Allee Willcox, of Suntree United Methodist Church. She will deliver her remarks with her close friend of 10 years, Rev. Amy Armistead, Pastor of The Gathering Place, a new church organized through First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach.

The half-day event will include music, activities, door prizes, and more.

Allee Willcox met Amy Armistead as an undergraduate at Florida Southern College. The pair then attended Divinity School together at Duke.

“The relationships we often have with our female friends can be significant parts of our support network,” said Rev. Willcox

“Post COVID, building supportive, faith-centered relationships is more important than ever. This conference seeks to highlight and encourage us to invest in these relationships for our own emotional and spiritual well-being.”
