Brevard Public Schools Employees and Their New Leadership Roles Announced

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Parent engagement and reviewing the present and future for Brevard Public Schools was discussed during this week’s board meeting and the board appointed BPS employees to new leadership roles.

Alliance for Public Schools, a non-profit organization that works in school communities, presented to board members. In April, Alliance for Public Schools held a listening tour across the district to get feedback from the community. Here is the PowerPoint:

■ Julie Sanders goes from Teacher at Adult & Community Education to Assistant Principal at Adult & Community Education.
■ Heather LeGate goes from Assistant Principal at Titusville High School to Assistant Principal at Viera High School.
■ Mark Zeiler goes from Assistant Principal at Rockledge High School to Assistant Principal at Cocoa High School.
■ Kathryn Lott goes from Principal at Freedom 7 Elementary to Principal at Freedom 7 Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary.
■ Sarah Oberbeck from Title I Teacher at Creel Elementary School to Assistant Principal at Creel Elementary School.
■ Yesenia DeLeon becomes Assistant Principal at Freedom 7 Elementary School.
■ Vernon Cole becomes Assistant Principal at MILA Elementary School.
■ Lauren Sicoli from Teacher at Quest Elementary School Assistant Principal at Surfside Elementary School.
■ Karena Johnson-Blackwell goes from Teacher-On-Assignment at Johnson Middle School to Assistant Principal (10 month) at Tropical Elementary School.
■ Paulette Brancaccio goes from Title I Teacher at Columbia Elementary School to Assistant Principal at Ralph Williams Elementary School.
■ Jerry Hanson Jr. from Assistant Principal at Madison Middle School to Assistant Principal (10 month) at Astronaut High School.
■ Stephanie Booth from Teacher at Jefferson Middle School to Assistant Principal at Cocoa High School.
■ Cathy Gahres goes from Teacher at Astronaut High School to Assistant Principal at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School.
